Typically in the past, there were thresholds to being eligible for a ERP. Usually the number was 70, which was the total of your age and years of service. So if you were 50 and had been with the company 20 years, you would be eligible. If you were 50 and had 10 years of service, you would not be eligible.

Back then, can people in their 30s elect early retirement?

They can’t bring back early retirement just for those reasons. Everyone would leave, massive purge, and no one of value left to hold up the sinking ship.

Please bring back early retirement! They will more than make the numbers as thousands will line up to leave!

@pqi+1tVUJhU3 Because they can get you out for $0 by making your life miserable. More outsourcing, less resources for your department, more incompetence as they "downsize" by firing long tenure SMEs, etc. By the time Karen is done you'll want to pay them to get out

At this point, for as long as we all have been suffering, do you know how long the line would be? 😂

Can you image the exodus of employees singing "Take this job and shove it" if they brought back early retirement?!

I'm one of those folks that would gladly accept an early retirement offer. They used to do these with Aetna. I could have taken the last one they did in 2016, but I figured I would wait until 2021 (they were doing these in 5 year increments at the time). But then the CVS acquisision happened.

Yes, I want out big time.

I tried this last year and it was a no because the people being laid off were already selected.

No. They use it as a reason to fire you.

Cvs has a cheap retail mentality. They prefer people quitting or finding reasons to fire them so they can pay as little as possible. This is a truly despicable organization.

That's the 'voluntary early retirement' they used to offer to reduce layoff #s. Last time I saw that offered was ~2020 for Aetna, not sure on the CVS side. Doubt they will offer it now, too many people would jump ship.

There are people who want out, why not give them a chance?
