Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Offshore Managing

Why can’t India employees be managed by someone in the US? My counterpart in India does not have to do half the work I am required to do and we have the same role but we are managed by two different people because of them being in India. How is India labor cheaper if they do not have to produce the same amount of work?

Responding to ETSD Pages to a bridge for production issues is a real hair puller. Now Indian Employees man the bridge and not prepared. Incident Manager has no idea what the issue is or who to call. This results in waking up US staff for non production issues. It’s a mess.

Fiserv is horrendous at using offshore resources. I don’t blame the folks themselves, many are fine at what they do, but it’s SO MUCH harder to work with them to do anything than it should be.

Probably getting paid more than you are too.

They don't get tax credits if they are managed by an American manager.

The "official" reporting needs the managers to also be in India, but "unofficial" assigning of tasks can still be done my US managers.

First had to realign reporting trees because it was violating some requirement.

Because they can take 3 times longer before the ROI starts to diminish. Stop complaining about employees in India if they are not producing as much, because maybe that's what is needed for you to look good.
