Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Dear Uncle Phil

I'm writing to you today as a concerned citizen, a disappointed consumer, and a guy who's just plain tired of seeing Nike's potential squandered by the current leadership.

Let's start with the obvious: JD needs to go. He is not a winner, he is a consultant who never learned that there is a difference between telling people how to run a company and actually running a company. He thought he could just coast on the company's brand recognition while he golfed his way through quarterly earnings reports and HON did her thing with the internet.

And speaking of golfing, let's talk about Intel Bob. The man’s initials are BS. I mean what's a bigger red flag than a CEO who's buddies with a guy who ran Intel into the ground? I mean, Intel's stock jumped 7% the day he got canned! His tenure at Intel was the corporate equivalent of watching a train wreck, but without the spectacle. More like watching paint dry... in slow motion... while also being set on fire.

But here's the kicker: BS and JD go way back. They used to work together at eBay, where I'm sure they perfected the ancient art of corporate stagnation. JD seems to have picked up a few tips from BS’s "How to Tank a Company 101." The duo honed their skills at eBay, a company that, under their watchful eyes, became synonymous with the phrase "missed opportunities." It's almost poetic, really—the way they've managed to bring their special brand of underperformance to Nike, a company that was once synonymous with winning. And now, they're reunited at Nike, like two old friends who just happen to be terrible at their jobs.

So, Phil, here's the deal. Please fire JD, kick BS off the board, and bring in some actual leadership. Because right now, Nike is like the participation trophy of sportswear - it's just showing up, collecting a paycheck, and phoning it in.

Sincerely,
Concerned Sharholder

As if he spends any time at nike anymore. Haven’t seen him around with any regularity for a decade.

Also, of all the problematic leaders at nike, Phil is the least of them. Nike started going downhill when he stepped away. Curiously, the employee base exploded after that as well. He knew we didn’t need most of you. He was a true and honest winner. JD is your target. Not Phil.
