Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

We are in great shape. Not.

Thank god the well thought out and carefully conducted layoffs propelled the stock price upwards. Now we can sleep easily. Jesus, what were they thinking?? They addressed none of the systemic problems but they managed to lay off many people who were actually able to pull us out of mud, all the while having no clue as to what else to do. Such a pity for all the people who were laid off for no good reason. Shame on incompetent a--holes at the top.

@kpm+1tOtXAu6 That is what happened to me actually. They said in 3 months they will be cutting in my department and I got a job in 2 months along with a few more doers... Now only managers reporting to managers are left in my ex team

The layoffs did worse things than morale. If your CEO says “I’m going to fire most of you in 6 months” guess what’s going to happen… the career climbers will find a new job within 2 months.

That’s why our stock tanked.

We didn’t cut dead weight. We encouraged the do-ers to leave. That’s why overall headcount is down 4x the layoff target

The only thing these layoff did was to destroy the morale for 9 months, leaving a long lasting scar on employees trust and motivation and causing a bunch of actual talent to jump off and join other companies. That is all. In the meantime, MN is still in NSRL
