T-Mobile results pile 5G humiliation onto AT&T and Verizon

T-Mobile is kicking our butts. Years of terrible leadership at T allowed our competitors to catch and surpass T.
We are desperately needing new leadership.

T Mobile has been out competing and out earning att for years....much stronger leadership ....do you think for a minute they would hire Stankey or McElfresh? No way because they don't want a losing culture and the don't want to run their stock into the ground..

I’m on TMobile. I run into way less bad spots than ATT and I’m spending less than I did with the employee discount. Weird thing is, TMobile and ATT hand out partnership discounts like candy. Check your new employer for benefits. I got a monthly discount that is only a few bucks worse than the employee discount. It’s about the same for retirees. ATT employee benefit on wireless is a joke.

The really interesting thing about T-Mobile’s outstanding performance is that they achieve superior results with something like 50% of the headcount of AT&T. Better results with half as many people! Let the bloodletting at T continue.

Apparently some executives jolted for T Mobile. I wasn’t aware this hit it was actually mentioned on a “all hands call” with our SVP. I was surprised to hear that and even more surprised that it was mentioned during the discussion.

Good luck getting or maintaining a cell signal anywhere rural or very far off the main roads. It’s ok if, you mainly live in the city.

Just got surplused for the "your role was moved 4 states away" garbage. I plan to move to tmobile after this next billing cycle and will talk all my friends and extended family to move off of ATT.

last time I was on a call with dallas and alpharetta people, someone was walking around the offices coordinating tmobile ringtones. it was hillarious and drove my leadership chain into a pure rage. keep it going phantom tmobile ringtone owner!

What's "laughable"?

It's indisputable fact that they have kicked our aZZ in the markeplace.

Industry leading growth over the last several years with stock up 150% in last 5 years...

How has our stock done, I forget..?

"If their network is so cr-ppy, why have they been kicking out butts for years?"

I've been with tmob for about four years now, I think I can answer this. Their network management really is worse than AT&T's, I'm in a small market & every so often, a site will go down for days, up until a couple of years ago, I was regularly handing down to 2g in the core.

The network is poorly managed compared to at&t's, but has been "good enough" because:

  1. Tmob's got more bandwidth & better speeds.
  2. Better prices.
  3. Better marketing...way better marketing.

T gave TMUS $4 billion. They invested it wisely and made the stock go up 200%. After giving away such a big chunk of money T made another stupid decision and borrowed over $ 150 billion in order to get sinking DTV and TW. Then T wasted millions on integration. When repo guys showed at the door T sold DTV and TW with big loss.

They’ve been kicking our butts for a long time now. The 4 plus billion in cash and also the spectrum we gave them for the privilege of NOT buying them really helped get them going. No executives were held accountable for that either.

I also know management folks that left T and went there a decade or so ago that are now very wealthy. Which is possible when you have a stock that appreciates in value.
