It’s so bad at the top that those on the bottom now feel like that don’t have to be accountable to anyone either. See this site for reference.

You don’t have to perpetuate this. You can be better. In the end you do yourself no favors for having zero standards for how you conduct yourself.

If Nike got rid of JD, HON, and a few others on the Exec team, that would send a message about accountability - about how poor performance and bad decisions come with consequences. Until then…

Accountability is a tricky subject, while agree that doing the right thing is important just to look at your bloodshot eyes in the mirror when trying to wake up for another 15+ hour day, I think a top contributor to the morale issues is the lack of accountability for certain people and teams. Look at the SEC go live, overall going better than expected but still a freakin’ mess that could be avoided if people/teams talked & collaborated instead of the selfish “look at me” & look what shiny tool I implemented behavior that leads to ignoring Customer, Biz Partner, and Industry requirements. Yes, we can do better - let’s simply start by holding teams accountable for mistakes. Not personally, but make teams budget and pay for costs incurred. Would get a lot better fast if pay-to-play was really that, instead of a select few paying for what they want to, and everyone else is f’d

Well, I rather be better at my job search and re direct my energy and focus there rather investing in doing my job at Nike. Because regardless of performance, the CFE is just a show, every one get no kore than 3 percent raise and my good performance cannot protect me from being laid off... Come on! There should be something beyond (you do yourself no favor for having zero standard) type of incentive
