Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

AT&T Rep here, how is it at Verizon?

Been a rep at a corporate store for 6 years, I’m honestly getting sick of all the metrics we have to hit & the way we are coached, micromanaging etc.

How is it at a Verizon corporate store? Example we have to sell gross adds, upgrades, 1st Net, Biz lines, Fiber, Cellular Internet, TV, accessories, Insurance, Home Insurance…blah blah blah. The best rep here ki-ls it and makes $2000 commission here, it’s decent but after tax it’s $1300.

I want to stay in wireless, but want less metrics. I’m on the 1st step of discipline for not demoing our tv service. Fun times.

AT&T offers Pension+ 401K

Verizon offers 401K

If you want to retire, stay at MA Bell.

Please do not come here if you do not understand sales metrics... Any highly competitive sales environment will focus on KPIs....

Don't do it we have nepotism running rampant here. In STL hiring managers that are friends and family before internally promoting.

If you don’t care about benefits, work indirect. A few of my friends brought in 100k last year. I work corporate and have to bust my a$$ just to bring in 4-5k/month.

Not worth it. It’s way worse here.

All wireless companies have a lot of metrics to hit … no escaping that if you want to be in it . Verizon has no union dues and great benefits

If you like micromanagement and exorbitant metrics to hit, it's just like AT&T. However AT&T is unionized, so you are more protected from the companies bad decisions.

Don’t do it, like at all, way more metrics and way more micromanaging. Stressed to the limit and can’t even hit quota that is set too high, so you work your butt off for minimal payout. Poor leadership and never staffed properly.
