Did anyone get laid off while on personal leave, not FMLA which has job protection?

I had multiple team members laid off during maternity and medical leave. FMLA does not save you
FMLA doesn’t save you from a layoff.

@vkp, that is right. You are not eligible for severance if laid off during personal leave.
I was always scared to take personal leave since I don't believe that you're eligible for severance if your job is eliminated while on personal leave. Correct me if I'm wrong on that?
