It’s a good analysis but doesn’t go far enough.
The strategy was flawed, AND the execution of the flawed strategy (by the same executives) in and of itself, was completely incompetent, compounding the destruction of shareholder value:
- Billions torched on tech programs that were mismanaged and not executed.
- Complete loss of discipline in allocation and channel management to hit nonsense NDDC growth targets
- Utter shambles in terms of hiring and the resulting impact on company culture.
The fact that JD and HON are still here really just speaks to broken shareholder governance and weird, weird culture in 5th floor Seb Coe. Who would be a class B shareholder of such a dumpster fire?
this will be down in 24 hours when the legal team gets back to work (likely tuesday because they are lazy af)
Hope PHK and the the whole board reads this. How does these clowns (JD & HON) still have jobs?
So refreshing to see in print someone laying the blame at HONs Gucci clad feet. I had to laugh at the “flywheel” reference as I recall sitting in meetings being spoken down to by MG (part of the friend group) about the magic flywheel insight. We all left just shaking our heads. Exactly when will we see accountability? It would help soften the blow from losing my retirement income.
