Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Hiring Freeze Still In Effect?

Anyone within the company heard from leadership if a hiring freeze is still in effect? I’m curious if people are actively getting hired, especially after some of the negative publicity CVS has been getting lately.

Paraphrase from my Exec Director today:

“As you probably already know, the enterprise has put company wide austere measures in place…the earliest there will be a requisition open is end of q3 and that (SVP name here) has approved it but has to validate the need to above and that is doubtful”

This was in regards to the status of the team’s open position that was given notice in April, vacant in May and still no word.

Aka keep working double and get nothing for it.

I’ve been “Under Consideration” for multiple positions for several months. They’re really putting a lot of thought into their consideration

CVS top executives are playing a very dangerous game and dare I say they are not very good at it…

Many companies including CVS post false recs to make it appear as business as usual. They have no intention of filling the open recs they are just there for appearances only. This keeps everyone including shareholders from freaking out. It’s smoke and mirrors.

In July job.cvshealth.com used to have 40-45 thousand roles plus or minus. Today it only shows 21,000.

just b/c there is a req posted, it doesn't mean the company will fill it. unfortunately, that's business as usual for many companies...

I'm in DDAT. I saw that CVS is hiring an Experience Designer on LinkedIn. But all of the reqs on my team have been frozen.

No they are hiring in Dental. Specifically replacing the people they laid off last year under different job titles. Real professional move

This company is very volatile and there is absolutely no job security. Many people transfer laterally every 8-12 months. Two weeks ago, my supervisor told me not to settle in the job and start looking for a transfer or outside of the company and leave. Prior to any layoffs, company put a hiring freeze and trying to control budget.

There is in fact a hiring freeze and a slowing of hiring.

I’m still waiting for my manager to be replaced….he put in his notice 4/1 with final day of employment of 5/15.

I was originally told “oh by end of June we’ll have someone on the team”

As of the writing of this his job was never posted up anywhere, yet we keep getting comments about how we’re not as fast as we were last year (before layoffs). Shocked laying off 1 team member, 1 quitting with no replacement and another on an extended LOA and we’re not meeting same levels huh who would have thought.

As far as I’m concerned there is one even if not official.
