Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

More layoffs and reorganizations coming in Texh

This email came from the Interim CTO this afternoon:
———-
“Teammates,

I wanted to reach out to you directly to share more details about our strategic engagements with Accenture and Cisco. We have received your feedback and know that you have questions. I will do my best to provide more clarity and hope you know how much we appreciate your dedication and hard work during this period. Be on the lookout for a scheduled call in the coming days to review the information below. Our goal is to continue to provide you with support and guidance throughout the remainder of this transition.

As we have mentioned in prior communications, Core Technology & Operations (CT&O) is moving to a new Product and Service Delivery operating model. To accelerate our progress, we have expanded our strategic engagements with Accenture and Cisco Systems to leverage their respective expertise, global resources, and scale. These multi-year plans ensure continuous improvements of CT&O platforms, processes, and Teammate and Client experiences.

As we look to the future each of you have an important role to play supporting this business function and the transformation of services. We appreciate your continued focus on the job at hand and assistance with transitioning work. While there will be a role for you following the service transition, we expect roles to change as we continue to evolve. Should a change in your role be necessary, it will be communicated to you in advance of any change. We will partner with you for your insights as we manage through the transformation of the roles needed to support the new target state organization.

One of the difficult aspects of this transition is that some of your Truist Teammates have been impacted. I understand that this may be a hard time for you and your peers, and I want to remind you about the importance of self-care during these times of transition. With that in mind, at the end of this email I have included tools and resources to support you.

Finally, I’d like to say thank you. We’re grateful for your perseverance and for the contributions you continue to make to our organization. We remain committed to doing what we can to make this transition as smooth as possible. We’re all in this together, and your well-being is a top priority.

I appreciate your patience and continued dedication as we transition.”

Love the part about "we appreciate your dedication and hard work"....what a joke. You love it just long enough for us to train our replacements so you can kick us out the door. Good thing this was sent by email - not sure anyone could deliver that message with a straight face.

Company is outsourcing because it’s too bloated especially in IT, how many DBAs do you really need? Not as much as we have, most work 8 hours a week

What ki-ls me about outsourcing is it is executive leadership saying, “we’re so bad at running our organization that we can hire someone else and pay them enough for them to do the same job plus make a profit for less than what we were trying and failing to do on our own”.

If you get laid off and refuse a position with Accenture, you don't get severance. Accenture will lay off in 6 - 12 months anyways, once they've su-ked all the knowledge out of you that they need, so don't go to Accenture. Just leave and find a much better place to work!

IF YOU ARE PART OF KT MEETINGS, CALL IN SICK. THEY CANNOT FIRE YOU IF YOU'RE SICK. THIS PROCESS NEEDS TO BE WRECKED UNTIL THEY ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS.

So the question before you all is, are you going to take this lying down or become the disruption the company needs right now?

If you're laid off and offered a position with Accenture and then refuse, you're no longer laid off. Instead, you've chosen to quit and get no severance...or unemployment because, again, you have willfully left a position.

For anyone wondering, let me PROMISE you that the word I typed in last post was NOT "sick"

F you Ashley and your self care. Wow, when you think this circus can’t get any worse this bullsh-te is fed to you. I’ll give this cu-t 18 months max before she moves on to her next victim.

Just when you think corporate BS and double-speak couldn’t get any more rancid, you get an email like that. “Impacted” = canned, “change in your role” = canned, “self care in times of transition” = “did you spend the afternoon at the bar or dispensary?”

i.e. - “We need you to cross-train Accenture and CISCO resources before we lay you off. Below are resources you can pay for if you just so happen to need them. Now f-u-c-k off.”

In care,
Ashley
