The FAT telling others to cut the FAT. Not a sustainable goal.

Spend money like it's your own!? Are they fu--ing tone deaf? I would nothave spent 10 billion on a bunch of strip mall clinics, but that's just me. I'm sure some overpriced consultant group said it was a smoking deal...all id--ts.
The cfo seemed especially concerned. He already knows what q2 is looking like and I felt his delivery was nothing short of scared. They know it's bad
No acknowledgement that leadership put us in this position, yet it's the rank and file that bear the brunt of the fu-k ups. I am doing the bare minimum as are many of my co workers. If I get let let go, good as I am actively looking to leave anyway.
In other words, YOU tighten your belts, because WE got us into too much debt. That’s rich.
Spend the company money like it is your own. Work with less. Tighten the belt. Limit non essential travel. Look for new ways to save money. More “tough” changes coming soon.
Sounds like more return to office junk. I have been WAH since 09 and closest office is 55 miles away.,no one on my team is in that office so what would be the point.
They expect middle management to act like cheerleaders and keep delivering while executives make “efficiency “ decisions and f up with strategic choices. The whole talk was a load of corporate BS where there was not even a second degree reference to layoffs even though it was evident that layoffs will hit with some of the initiatives being shut down.
So basically a combination of a corporate CVS pep rally & we all gotta makes sacrifices for the sake of the business. (just not the senior leaders making the sacrifices, the little people at the bottom taking the hit) Meanwhile all this is going to do is make DL's crack down even harder, and micromanage every penny, and every metric. Which will only cause more people to leave, which is probably what corporate wants anyway. And then not replace those who left and force stores to continue to do more with even less than before.
No layoffs
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
It was a really horrible meeting they alluded to layoffs , sorry "work effeciency"/ cost cutting. Dont worry Prem will still jet set around the country don't worry, coming to store near you.
We all are supposed to think and act like CFOs but not the pay. BTW Tom Cowhey video conference in so guess RTO does not count for him
Who was that VP lady could she have sounded anymore of an a**hole?
Basically get ready for layoffs and do more work . The pressure is on you. Our bonuses will not happen and she will drink more. Don't forget to participate in the PAC you know equivalent to what your raise was so you give more back to Joyner and his buddies
Could be 8/1 announcement like last year, but could be 8/6. Coincidentally or not, last year 8/1 was the day before the earnings call. This year, earnings call is 8/7. Just wish I knew one way or the other; it’s the limbo that’s ki-ler.
Nothing new, very much what others said. No new info on any cost cutting, or layoffs. It is a twice yearly reg sched call, very much the same as last winter
People aren’t going to contribute to the PAC agenda when they’re worried about how they’re going to support their families and then losing income with the unplanned requirement and expense of having to now commute to the office.
I think we're just trying to dig any layoff info we can get but it should be said pretty transparently if so during the next town hall. I do not know when it is but it certainly feels like they're going for another Aug 1st announcement then Aug 15 layoff. Matter of fact the first hint of this last year was from an email from KL before even that town hall. I have no idea otherwise.
i am curious , did this people leader meeting happen regularly every quarter or every year or it suddenly pops up this year july?
Begging people to join the PAC...yeah fu-k that. I guarantee any all promotions will be considered on the basis of your pac engagement....it's soft retaliation which is very easy to hide.
That’s ironic because my motivation is at 0 until the day either I or Karen leaves
Motivation is of little use without direction, and I haven't seen much of that this entire year.
Nothing out of the norm. Teleprompter reading that can be summed up in one line “motivate your people.”
The basic themes of it were, don’t spend money we don’t have any, and a leaders job is to get their team through challenging times. The mood was basically “we all have to do hard things sometimes” but we are just telling you this for no real reason…
I was hoping for some substance about what was ahead but looks like we have to wait for the earnings call for that.
They did point out that only 2% of people contribute to the CVS political action committee… so there was a sales pitch for that.
I was curious too as I asked my manager and she said she couldn’t divulge which did t sound good
Basically senior leaders saying its our fault and we need to help fix it.
corporate feel good fluff
