Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Side Hustles, Hobbies, Work/Life Balance

I don’t know if this post is necessarily giving advice or asking advice. What are you all doing outside of work to maintain sanity, make ends meet, or put a little cash away?

We all need something, right?

To make ends meet, I officiate youth sports and do some part-time clerical work. Su-ks that they take time away from my family time, but it makes things a little better financially. It’s really going to su-k once the RTO is at 4 days.

OP, if you're in CT&O, get a second full time job. Our group has so many FTE's already that there's not enough work to go around anyway so a few of us let the contractors do the work while we work our other jobs. Easy peasy.

I spend any free time I have studying for my AVP exam! Once I make AVP, the sky is the limit!

I go home and get drunk. Takes the edge off Truist. My life force scores continue to decline.

I wasn't looking to out anybody for undeclared Outside Business Activity/second jobs. Of course if you are required to report that, report it. I am just asking generally what people are doing to maintain work/life balance? I think it is important for people to have something outside work that is bringing them balance.

Please don’t post any answers here as an undocumented “Side Hustle” can be used for grounds for termination.
Just find a new job and move along. Whatever is going on means nothing good for Employees or Customers. Get yours but do it right and don’t hurt yourself or others in the way out.
