2024 Mid Year PIPs/Coaching Plans

They dragged me into below strong (1st ever. I was storng/above storing all these years) during 2024 mid year and put me in the coaching plan with unbelievable number of tasks. Its very clear what is the writing on the wall, another review during end of the year and then kick me out after. Feels like the number is very high for this (from what we heard 7% or 15% in the past). Any one in the same boat?

This all sounds so familiar. I was given a coaching plan with a plethora of task. Then when i couldnt complete all the task, I was put on a PIP with the same number of task plus more. The writing was definitely on the wall. How can I motivate myself the win when the cards are stacked so much against you?!

Yep, this is what they do. You get you at mid-year, put you on a coaching plan so ridiculous and extensive that it feels like you're being set up to fail. I actually got off my coaching plan, was given a major project for our org which was well-received and a huge process improvement and was told at year end I still was belong strong because of other things and was going on a PIP. I opted out for the severance package. However, during mid year and year end, I was a basket case waiting for the axe to fall. Unfortunately, if you're on the "list," you're on your way out and there's nothing you can do about it. Get your severance though because you deserve it for the 6 months of harassment you'll have to endure! But also be prepared because the harassment may not end there... they may ask for part of your severance back months later due to a "clerical" error. What a horrible, unethical company!

Mid year review got me as welll. I’m an employee at c1 for the last 5+ years. I had a new manager come in, less than 6 months. He made up a reason around missing timelines and my lack of communication. Feeling like I’m officially the scape goat for these missed timelines.

Former C1 engineering manager. You don’t know who will end up in the below strong bucket. Had to PIP two engineers last mid year. Was brutal. Forced to retroactively invent reasons. Best advice is to GTFO. To another org or company.
