This happened to me and a coworker. I gave notice first. The boss and I agreed on an exit date. Right before that day, after weeks of no contact, the boss’s boss called me. “What would it take for you to stay a little longer?” Seems they had signed two contracts and work was piling up. I said, I’ve been waiting for a promised promotion for over two years. Promote me to that level, with appropriate raise and bonus, and I’ll stay. No timefrane given. She said “I can’t do that.” I replied, “Then what are you offering?” She muttered something about after the new year, blah blah blah. I said, “We’re done talking.” I left that Friday. My coworker, unfortunately, fell for it. When the new year came and went he reminded them of their promise and they said “Budgets are tight.” He left too. Moral of the story: they won’t do right by you. If you get the chance to leave, take it:

If they really wanted to pay you they would! Obviously they won’t push the approval to Frank
I had a pleasure moment at Aon some years back when IT would totally oursourcd and we were all terminated per Indian or poor knowledge replacements. OH and then I was asked to find files on a server. No, I said - and you never gave me a counter-offer of any kind. Find someone else and pardon me but I have a computer to fix, I LOVED it. GOOD FOR YOU !!!!
i hate Fiserv!!! i say every job is a new adventure and Fiserv is a living he-l!
That manager did a really good job fleecing your coworker. That manager deserves a raise! (Unfortunately budgets are tight...)
You can say that again:
“They don’t do right by you.”
That’s the whole 360 degrees of it for most employees. Period.
I had similar thing happen to me. Anytime someone tells you wait a few months, that means it’s not happening. Move on.
