Hey folks that have already gone through the displacement process. Thank God I finally got my call last week. In the documentation packet it gives direction to search on Reference Letter Request in Workday and click on the task. I do so and the first required box shows nothing found in the drop down? And it won’t let me continue of course. Good old WF. Anyone else have this issue? I am in my 60 day non-working period. TIA

@1mab+1t7p36ll Those internal references are dubious at best. They are usually below the radar & have NOTHING to do with how good you do your job & everything to do with how much the boss LIKES you, how little they are made to feel insecure by your performance, & how much you SU-KED unto the boss. In most cases they are in inverse proportion to the truth. You'd be surprised how many WF "managers" like to prevent people from progressing or getting jobs around here.
I don’t particularly want it but it is listed as a to-do in the displacement packet. Guess I can call HR India … ello? Lol
It’s documented somewhere in Wells Fargo files that WF is not allowed to provide references via letter for any employee. Wells Fargo will only give references internally.
There’s an 800 number prospective employers can call to verify your work history and if you’d be rehired.
That’s all we get.
I was told we could write a reference letter for you guys. Thought about it. Decided not to. First, you going out and getting a job would spread my name around. What happens in 6 months to 1 1/2 when I am out and looking? Too many questions to answer. Second, I don't believe in blanket reference letters. Third, I am inclined to say you worked in a h..lhole trench and picked up all kinds of survival habits. I can only refer you for getting into other such situations.
I suggest you network and find other references.
WF won’t provide any references. They will only confirm that you worked here.
I got laid off three months ago and didn’t get that.
Must be a new thing? I was let go late last year, and this doesn't sound familiar.
Just contact someone who’s no longer with the bank. Lots to choose from. Most companies won’t give a reference once you leave (their choice or yours). It’s a liability thing for that one employee who is un-hireable. Can’t pick and choose your letters of reference
Wait a few days and try again
I had the same experience. No reference letter available.
