Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Tell us your department

I know people tend to live in their own world and don't realize all of the different segments of this company, but please realize how big the audience is. Are you in Commercial banking? If so on the credit, sales (RM), back office, TOS, etc.? Same for corporate banking and business banking. Are you in Consumer banking? Sales side? Customer facing? U.S. Bank is really like 10+ different companies. Not trying to be a complainer and I appreciate people posting about being laid off or rumors, don't get me wrong. Just let us know what department of which part of the bank you are talking about if you can!

I was laid off in February from a Mortgage position, based in mpls.
My direct manager had 6 or 7 let go from (her) team. She didn't say a single word to any of us before the end of our last day. Not a single word to the remaining team members to let them know who wouldn't be back the next day.... absolutely nothing... she obviously couldn't have cared less. It confirmed we didn't matter to the team or to the organization.

Is this just a question about department? Or also a question about what departments got hit with layoffs?

Recruiter. It’s not me, it’s you.

remember to stay vague enough in your answers to keep your identity hidden.

Commercial credit. Don't love this job but I have to say that I feel fairly compensated and not tremendously overworked. Overall the stories I hear from other departments are a lot worse. Especially anything in treasurey management / retail side of things.
