Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

IBM and Kyndryl sued for age discrimination

Both companies are being sued AT THE SAME TIME! Download the Complaint

"A cadre of top executives developed and implemented the plan while the Human Resources and Finance we-ponized artificial intelligence and scoring algorithms against IBM’s older workers," the complaint says. "Finance made the math work, providing the business case for mass exits of older employees"

"The legal filing cites a 2021 case, Townsley v. Int’l Bus. Machines Corp, in which executive Sam Ladah, who is accused of attempting "to keep ageist IBM executive level planning documents confidential," said those documents from five to six years earlier were still being used for hiring decisions."

Good luck!! You think you won't be where we are at now. So go ahead junior keep hating on the older crowd. I can tell you this with one hundred percent certainty. I made it through most of my career, good or bad but employed. You are and will be so immersed in a work world where you will compete with AI. I suspect AI will out compete you. Your generation will be the disposable workforce, more than any other generation before you.

I am not exactly a fresh faced newbie with kyndryl. I do not like the way get out was expressed in the previous post. I think there is value in my older colleagues. However, I can't argue with the sentiment. I see the anger and resentment from the IBM older legacy transfers. You feel like you got hung out to dry by IBM. You definitely got a raw deal. Your currently at a company, that sees your age demographic as a negative. IBM should have just done a mass layoff of the employee's that it really did not need. Younger workers feel like the legacy crowd is in their career path. Older workers should entertain the idea of retiring out the first chance you get. Kyndryl will pull that rug right out from under you. They already know what they want to do with the legacy workers. They will pull that trigger first opportunity they can.

I still stand by my statement get out!!! This experience you speak of is a great talking point. The reality is this, I am better educated than you. I am more willing to go the extra mile to promote my career. I am not lazy or resting on my past laurels. What is the most obvious observation I have observed. Is you are a bunch of name dropping but kissing IBM carry overs. Your group has proven, no continues to prove the old adage not what you know, but who you know. I know this much, you overstayed your relevance. I will be your boss someday. I guarantee you this,I will hold you to the same standard and expectation. I would to the fresh new talent coming through our door.

For the previous reply of “You’re too old. Get out”, us knowledgeable, experienced and highly qualified professionals will not hold your desire to replace us with your inexperience and “willing to learn fast” approach against you.
