Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Did anyone go to Dish from AT&T?

I work for a Corporate AT&T Retail store, been here for 4 years. I’m thinking about applying to Dish to just sell. I’m kind of sick of ALL the Metrics & Customer Service stuff we have to deal with. The Authorized Retailer’s just send all the BS our way. It was great years ago, but now it’s us cleaning up accounts & we are expected to sell so many things, metrics etc.

It’s Demotivating to me to be honest. I am a good salesman, but I feel like this job has made me an “order taker” when I finally get a sales opportunity if that makes sense. 90% of my job is dealing with issues. My coworkers feel the same tbh I talk to them daily, more than my family!

Get out of COR. I don't understand the attraction to servicing customers who don't know their password or can't order online. Might as well work in a retirement home.

Thanks for the replies, I can’t agree with everyone enough! DISH is a call center sales job, they make very good commission if you sell obviously, for me I get that sellers “high” when ki-ling it in sales! I DO NOT get that anymore at AT&T because of how bad the TV chargebacks are! Even though there is a 2 year contract, people cancel all the time! Also all the other BS we deal with.

COR employee here as well, well we gotta stay open to fix all the AR issues for sure! Then Best Buy, Sam’s etc. Then you have those who refuse to all in because of all customer issues being takn care of over seas (language barrier)! Plus managers refuse to issue credits when needed and causes Rep to be on phone for hours and miss sales! Plus Dallas isn’t sending any accessories at ALL to Retail Stores, empty pegs! ARSM NOR DOS will not say a word. Been that way over 6mths! List goes on but yet to continue to waste monies in downtown Dallas Palace for remodels!

Its also painful to see the other carriers pulling in double the traffic.

Hang out for a couple more weeks. Sounds like more turnover to AR is just around the corner.

I am also a rep at a COR store. I couldn’t agree with you more. COR stores need to act more as service centers vs. shoving anything you can down your customer’s throat. We deal with so much from authorized retail, and now door to door salesman are sending customers in with BS all of the time too.
