Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Any news with the new CIO?

Has the new CIO said anything or done any kind of town hall? Is he too busy outsourcing to India to talk?

Does anyone know about any job cuts in IT this year? I've heard that cuts will happen in small groups starting with contractors

I think AG (Chapters) and TK (Platforms) organizations will see deep cuts. Chevron doesn't fire their non-performing GMs so nothing will happen to any PSG 27 and higher. Everyone else watch out.

He is ready to change things, and fortunately for us, the numerous IT XLT members are already su-king up and gearing up for self preservation. Watch your backs.

First 90 days in the office will be crucial. We have way too many Managers at all level who use their hierarchical power to slow things down. Qualified and smart people have already left the company.

The Axeman is due for this group. Too many slackers and FOFH types.

Ol' Bill said he wasn't going to be a slash and burn guy but we know our management can't tell the truth so he probably is gassing up his flame thrower.

Aggressive app rationalization and more headcount concentration in Manila and BA. No clue if that means ROM or a slow move through attrition.
