Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

In Verizon retail stores what exactly does “ red circled “ mean ?

The other day I was on a call and someone mentioned the whole red circled thing but I don’t know what it means in regards to retail employees. They said it has to do with a pay freeze. Are employees getting their pay frozen.

They won’t need to freeze pay, they will just close the store. You’re not safe because you’re in a union.

See all store closures since 2021. The fact is, the company isn’t generating new revenue. From any source.

Did some research. Ok so the answer to this situation is fairly common for long time workers at a lot of jobs. Basically employees can get their pay capped depending on their position title and market. Apparently there are reps out there making 25-30 an hour not including commission. i suppose there are managers making less then reps when factoring at risk or commission earned into the equation. In any event this would never happen to a union employee unless the hourly cap is in the contract. Im guessing it would be in the contract to make it fair in all corporate stores. The at risk is on the same page even in unionized stores.

I don’t know. They can’t freeze my pay though. We are a unionized store.
