RIFs?

When do you think the next round of RIFs would happen after the VSP dust settles down?

Alot of knowledge will walk out the door with the VSP. If you're ABLE to take the package and are a great producer and good employee, yay, right? But if they don't get the numbers they're looking for they'll likely rif the slackers that STAYED ON that were OFFERED the package but didn't take it. If they didn't volunteer and get riffed, they don't deserve the same package.

A RIF will not occur until after VSP and even then, you're looking at December, maybe Q1 next year. They'll assess who is willing to jump ship, the headcount they can afford to lose, and "right-size" those pillars. Once the dust settles, whoever remains will get shuffled. You're looking at at least two major restructures. We're in a hiring freeze, and positions are not being backfilled, even if two out of six on my team depart, nobody is taking their place, and everyone is expected to pick up the slack. If they wanted your role, you would not have received a VSP offer, and if you aren't "chosen" this time, you have a target on your back between now and the next round of cutbacks.

Id--ts!!! Do the math!!! VSP is thru Mar 24, so after that.... probably Q3'24 to avoid paying VSP numbers to the newly Riffd.

I hope if there are RIFs they fall in the VSP window so those people get the 60 weeks.

RIFs are actually monthly for management. The TENDENCY is for them to be announced at the onset of Q4, unless something just can’t wait.

RIFs are quarterly for bargained, unless the contract provides a no-layoff period.

If and when RIFs are available in VCG ( Tech, Care & Loyalty) I would welcome it and be happy with taking a package. Not liking the direction the company is headed. I would also like to know if RIFs will be made after the VSP dust settles..
