VBG infra Management - VSP offer

In VBG's infrastructure team, some Verizon managers and directors are playing politics, focusing more on their job security than contributing to our team's success. This has created unnecessary bureaucracy and is preventing effective resource optimization and increased offshore work. Utilizing the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) for these political leaders in the form of associate director and director and clearing more work for offshore teams can help address these issues and build a more efficient, collaborative, and productive team. It’s high time for change to ensure a brighter future for VBG.

Of course it is who you know. It is also what you can back that up with against others who they know, too though. You think Directors would rather work with people who they have no clue about, than someone they worked with in the past successfully? Would you rather work with a stranger or someone you can trust? Wake up losers, seriously, welcome to the real world!

It's always been a false perception that you can easily succeed, and politics always plays a role. If it's not VBG, it's GN&T, or GTS, finding/creating one excuse after another to deny movement or progression. VZ Fwd, title changes, more levels, etc. are just smoke and mirrors. I've seen execs promoted out-of-the-blue that haven't shown where they earned those promotions, yet for the rank-and-file - 'oh, we have to check the budget, and post that promotion since it's a level change'..... complete political BS!

A 30% RIFF is cheaper than as 30% VSP take rate. So why do it? The VSP is a means to an end - reduce the payroll without the negative stock impact while VZ has the money to pay for it.

Nothing new. This game is as old as time. Been going on for decades. Verizon makes it impossible to succeed by putting the inflated egos with brown noses in place. It has always been about who you know, not what you know. This is the issue across the company so this isn't unique to VBG.
