Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Constant layoffs, consolidation and increased workload

Have all contributed to employees work/life being out of balance, more stress, anxiety and low morale. Wages increases are nearly stagnant and not keeping up with increased workloads, scope of control or inflation. Yearly bonus isn’t enough anymore.

The golden handcuffs have been taken away so, those of us near retirement are going to be leaving at a much faster rate. Leadership has failed the employees, stockholders and growing the business. The young talent and newly hired aren’t going to stick around in this kind of toxic environment, very little actual training and mentoring happening anymore. Benefit and policy changes have taken away a big reason to stay other, than for the paycheck and that isn’t enough anymore with all the negatives.

increased workload

Just drop it. Let things break. It's not your job to fix what isn't yours.

Why are you stressing yourself out?

Flushing things other then toilet paper down the toilet still provides incentive for me to go to work.

When I’m short on comedy I always know I can visit this site. Everyone still complaining about a sh*thole company instead of moving on. You AT&T lifers are pathetic. The thrill get everyday knowing I no longer work for a lying, sneaky, abusive, threatening, zero integrity , ru-p supporting company brings me joy everyday. Keep posting and I’ll keep laughing.

Actually having to do some work now. Can't just BS the younger workers, telling how much you know.

Still spreading the peanut butter, nobody is safe and we aren’t finished rightsizing your azz. We are the only permanent employees that can’t be held accountable for performance or offshored and rebadged. Now get relocating and RTO, your two week layoff is coming.

Signed,

The Stink

Breaking news,

Starting next week all employees need to check out any company tools and supplies, those not used must be returned at the end of the day including pencils, pens and paper. We have created a new program for tracking and failure to comply will result in discipline including, up to termination.

“I'm sticking around a few more years to take home office supplies like a few paperclips, post-its, and printer paper every few weeks. Maybe the occasional pen to make a better life for myself.”

Must be nice to work in the c-suite, the rest of us can’t even order any supplies without upper management’s approval, the budget has been constrained. My location runs out of restroom supplies regularly and the office isn’t cleaned. Wouldn’t dare try and use the nasty break room, eat at the desk or my vehicle. I try to clean my drop-in location after I have a wrestling match for a desk or conference room seat. It’s survival of the fittest now that we have been herded into our sweatshops. How dare we expect any better!

I see there are still plenty of su-kaphants around who have no concern for their fellow peers. A persuasive bubble culture of Stankeytude towards the Human Capital. The ole FU, what have you done for me lately serf?

Leaving in 2025, was going to work longer but with this leadership, retirement is a better option. They don’t value us or our contributions anymore, expecting more network outages, hacks and degradation of a once great blue chip. Stankey and company will find out what the loss of a post generational knowledge base will effect the network, both management and bargained.
