I mean, what’s wrong with those people?? Can’t they organize everything, then give us some timeline, provide info as to who is most likely to be laid off, so we can make our own preparations? Do they really have to make it into a thriller, driving everyone into hysterics? Morale, performance, all of it, will just go out of the window

They wanted ppl to let the dir know, as they need ppl in Jul August, most ppl take summer vacations with families during this time, love this company!
Great team in Engineering remote , was told its all good, and was asked to take 4-5 weeks off and come back in September for great year!
Back in the day they (Aetna) did give warnings. They hype of Mental Health Awareness yet this company is what's giving me anxiety and depression.

If those "hard decisions" don't include some senior executives then that's part of the problem, since they were the ones who got us into this mess to begin with.
But I see ppl working remotely 9 to 5, hoping for the best. Not even one laid off so far
Medicare is currently 2.3 billion in the hole. It's grim. Hence on the town hall they made mention of layoffs, rather 'hard decisions'

In our case the captain and crew are telling us icebergs don't exist as they slowly descend to safety with all the lifeboats.

My engineering team as long as we show face it’s enough for RTO. We are told we are safe from layoffs forever. RTO (but we are remote 7 out of 8 hours daily) and double bonus for me and my buddies. Netflix, gym, whatever we want all day. IT is hiring

It’s evidence of a completely failed corporation that they keep resorting to the easiest and laziest way to cut costs, layoffs. If the corporation were run properly, they’d be able to keep operations going without destroying peoples livelihoods. But that’ll never happen.
It's simple. They don't want you to know until their ready, so you don't jump ship too early. It's disgusting and shameful, but it's CVS, this is exactly how they operate.

Say you know they are Corporate Hit People right? That's their duty to cause confusion and deflect. I guarantee this is the largest Termination planned if it mirrors others this group did 1/3 of US Employees are done. The official a swer will be they were stealing.
They will not be truthful if they do share. Last year they told the press no customer facing would be let go, well I was customer facing and was let go.

A company is laying off people and the warning is that somebody else in office would be somehow worse - despite all evidence to the contrary. Whatever education you got, try to get a refund, you got cheated.
