When’s the layoff. The work isn’t there and they’re still hiring Premise Technicians. What’s the delay, decade of drinking out of a fire hose of work, write your own check, now there’s not enough to stay busy through the whole day. Chased numbers for a decade. Not used to the slow down, thumb twiddling. Especially when this is typically the busy time of the year.

AFO will soon FAFO
Enjoy the slowdown, the company and the workforce is in a transition right now. Just like when most of the current core hired on in the late 90’s, early 2000. All the older techs were within 5-10 years of retiring and some retired sooner than that. Going forward with new tech and fiber there will be a much smaller work force, it’s continuing to reduce through attrition and targeted layoffs, it will level out within the next couple of years.
There are still a few 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s hires working but the majority will retire within the next couple of years.
What exactly is this useless post about? (Yes, I asked a real question with a ?)
Don’t see it getting any better if the company meets its goals of having the network 50+% fiber in the near future.
