Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

do not be gaslit by a vocal minority

I have seen quite a few posts recently aggressively pretending people are fine going to the office. This is a vocal minority. Very few people actually think this. Just this week-I have spoken to two managers ( high up in important jobs with many reports and not in my area) who pretty much despise this company and leadership and described how unhappy their staff is.

Putting your personal opinion on RTO aside, absolutely terrible leadership. Having morale this low will not turn around the bank. It’s just bad leaders trying to exert their power to make up for internal feelings of inadequacy.

Remember-there is safety in numbers. Don’t be gaslit into thinking you are an outlier.

@1vhx+1szt1cp8 are you a bot or do you love boot leather that much? Truist has been mispredicting the fed for melonfarming 3 years, I'm sure they'll continue to do so.

We had a propaganda townhall on Wed. The PTB tried to gaslight us by saying RTO 4 days is to benefit the next generation? What? I wasnt born yesterday! What a load of sh-t. No one in my LOB has any respect for them. How does 3 days verses 4 days make a difference? They are all sc-mbags.

Truist is doing well financially and our stock is kicking butt. I’m optimistic layoffs (at least company wide) are not in the foreseeable future. The fed should start lowering rates in July. Thankfully it will help drive revenue at banks, such as Truist.

I’m a manager and I hate RTO as I know it’s going to negatively impact the productivity of my team. I’m convinced it’s a form of quiet firing along with the reduction in 401k matching, cheaper and worse health insurance etc.

My boss hates this RTO thing and so does his boss. They also both know morale is low. We already work 3 days from the office and it’s way way more than enough.

Perhaps the intentional mistreatment is in fact an underhanded way to reach attrition goals, as stated. Whether due to malice or incompetence the result of low morale and higher attrition will be the same. The problem with the goal of higher attrition is that it selects for higher performance people to leave first, and will act as a mediocrity filter. The best leave, and the rest stay behind.

Some people believe that the more odd/urgent changes being put in place is a way to weed people out and make them resign. Maybe another round of cutbacks are coming soon and trying to avoid paying severance by getting everyone so frustrated they quit.
