Anyone hear anything about the fate of fully remote employees not anywhere near a HUB location or any client center? Will those of us in this situation be let go before the end of the year or just kept on and be able to work as business as usual? I've still seen little info on this situation and it's almost June.

Discrimination against American worker is at full force at this bank!!! Beware all applicants.
Check the internal job postings - there are postings for roles such as Change Manager or Project Manager in hub locations. This is only an example. So people have received severance and now there is hiring for similar roles in the hub locations only. The consulting company's playbook for other banks they had as clients was to hire people in hub locations before re-visiting the WFH / Remote people. I do not doubt that it is coming. The question is not "If" but "When."
Its ironic they are trying to phase out "remote" work pretending they care about in-person collaborations and making up "facts" about productivity and RTO at the same time they are also trying to move as many jobs to India, Philippians, and Poland.
What I was told before being laid off was that everyone in our portfolio who didn’t live within 30 miles of a hub would have to find a branch to work out of. What a joke.
Other Banks followed the same playbook. It might be because of the consulting company they partnered with. First came hubs, then when the dust settled ie they were able to determine headcount - remote folks were the first to go. I wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised if this were to occur.
So I’ve been told that if you are in a market and there is no place for you in a building you’ll be WFH. There are thousands of employees that are WFH now. If you’re no where near a hub or CC or building that houses other business lines, no decision has been made and leaked to your fate. Don’t be blind and think someone has your back, get your affairs in order.
I am fully remote and after the reorg I was moved to a totally different org and have a different job than I was doing, was hired for, have worked towards in my many years of experience. I was the most senior person on my team, have specialized knowledge and thought I was on a promotion path. I've essentially been transferred to the equivalent of the mail room. I have kept my title and pay but I am completely demoralized and unmotivated. I can't apply for other jobs within the company because I'm remote. I had planned on finishing my career here and am so disappointed in how I've been tossed aside.
They don’t want anyone remote and they have been vocal about it. Unless you’re one down from AC I would be looking and applying elsewhere. They will only protect themselves.
You should start looking elsewhere it’s coming
