Monitoring IP

My boss just told us they are now monitoring if you logged into company IP to crack down on people just swiping their badge and going home. He said for now it’s just if you logged in not how long you were logged in. Anyone else hear this?

Leadership has been reading theee boards and learning what so many slackers have been doing.

"Now here’s going to be the rub, if the company starts setting hours for exempt employees, that changes your status, you would then be considered hourly under most state laws. Idk about you guys, but I would love to be able to make some OT. "

This is why there is no time in office requirement outlined in the official policy.

Really it boils down to just do what you’re supposed to be doing and you won’t get in trouble. I despise the whole RTO thing and feel it is totally pointless, but I come in, do my 3x in office for the 8hrs expected and I don’t worry about that stuff. Now here’s going to be the rub, if the company starts setting hours for exempt employees, that changes your status, you would then be considered hourly under most state laws. Idk about you guys, but I would love to be able to make some OT.

It's the same thing from the video posted here a while ago. You can view the report documents on HR OneStop right now. It's another layer to give you credit for being in the office and not solely used to signify presence. The WiFi only pings once per day so if that's how you access the corporate network, and you miss the ping for any reason, it doesn't flag you as present in that category.

It's not reliable and why the badge swipe gives credit on the report above the other methods. You only need 1 of the 3 to get credit on the report. It's not Swipe & LAN/WiFi ping. You can believe me or not. It's all in writing that everyone here can read for themselves.

Why would you just show up to swipe badge and go home. You already made the drive to the office! Find a seat and do some work. All this non stop complaining about RTO is a bit much. If you don’t like the new policy you have the choice to find a new job. Nobody is forcing you to work here.

Who gives a sh-t? They are like death. They are coming for us all. Sooner or later. Your goal should be to be in a position where you can tell them fu-k you.
