Scary that people who work for a healthcare company don’t even realize or understand there’s a difference between Medicare and Medicaid.
"Insurance game" is a strange response... sure maybe with "Auto Insurance"
No Medicaid contract losses are small or expected.
Now those members will not have CVS /Aetna insurance... nor will they use CVS Pharmacies. United = Optum RX... Blue's prefer Walgreen's and Rite-Aid.
Except CVS is disputing the loss. Kansas says it was poor service and CVS says otherwise. So this loss was unexpected. This loss hurts because CVS wasn’t prepared for this one. Shows again corpos were asleep at the wheel.
It's the insurance game. You will lose contracts. Its built into the plan. Then you build in new sales to offset and or grow. For all we know it was running poorly and it was a good move.
Please please all this negativity Karen is out there her book… I mean pushing our company to greater heights. How she still has a job is beyond me. At this point it is cheaper to take the loss pay her out to go away. And start to right the ship. In another year she will cost the company more with bad decisions than her golden parachute costs.
@wsn+1syfaoNZ Regardless, a loss is still a loss.
I agree these losses should not be discounted.
More and more lost revenue.
I'm not surprised...... and it's what happens when much of the tribal knowledge was shown the door last October.
Little by little these losses are starting to pile up.
Reading is hard
This loss is of a State Medicaid contract, not the same as the Medicare Advantage line of business
but CVS want's to get rid of 10% of the Medicare business so this isn't a loss.
When you openly state multiple times in a matter of a week or two: “margins over patients” how is anyone really surprised at more losses?
