It seems like little by little Humana is consuming pieces of CarePlus. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of whether or not CarePlus is going away?

My partner has had Care Plus going on 14 years.
He's had great coverage & bennies over the years. But now his health is not only worse (he's greatly faltering & has received 7 surgeries this year alone! Both knees replaced, 3 lumbar operations & his gallbladder removed. A couple operations had to be repeated, as corrections were made to original plans!)
Now we're seeing that some budgeting in his invoices are beginning to get squeezed, & seeing reports that parent company Humana is possibly dropping Care Plus & several others next year.... He may lose his benefits altogether??? I've attempted several times to apply but can't get coverage at all... Denied over & over with Medicaid as well as other insurance. Even if I were to marry him to join his coverage... I wouldn't get it now. It may be too late!!
According to Newsweek reports, we're sc--wed! :{{
Are layoffs happening in Careplus?
It has definitely been different
Since Humana moved into senior leadership at Care Plus, everything started to go downhill; member satisfaction, micromanagement, LOSING STARS, etc. I got the h*ll out, those that are left are in total misery.
I hope so. They came in and asked my department to do a ton of duplicative work just for branding reasons. We didn't have the budget or resources for it and they don't want to pay for it. If we're trying to cut costs, why duplicate?
Humana doesn't seem to handle acquisitions frequently or well. UHG acquires and "blue washes" health plans and other entities all the time. The eventual green washing by the Humana parent of any acquired entity is normal and inevitable.
Humana has an history of buying and absorbing companies. I would guess that CarePlus retained it's independence for so long due to it's 4 & 5 star ratings. Once the senior positions started to be filled by Humana people, the end for CarePlus was in sight. I know that we had been reminded several times by a 'senior' person that "this is not Humana". Now that person is moving on we see reality.
I think the absorption started a year or so ago when they replaced key positions with Humana leadership
Yes will be absorbed into Humana internal over next couple of years. Not immediately.
Probably going to be absorbed by SNP, since they deal with part of the population anyway
