Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Job market is awful!

Don’t believe the low unemployment numbers people. I’ve been looking for months and it seems impossible to get an offer, for every posting there are like 500 candidates.

@yqn+1syAx0jz so true!!
job alerts from LinkedIn, Indeed etc. are to get the traffic on their site and usually the position is no longer available. BE CAREFUL when you post your resume on those sites--they basically harvest your info and will flood your inbox!

There are only so many jobs you can do in your PJs, and if you can do them so can anybody with a laptop. Of course there are hundreds of applications for those jobs, they are coming from all over the country if not the world.

The remote only niche is not the job market.

There are plenty of jobs for people willing to go to work.

Kitchen table economics 101. Chatting up a poor economy with feel good speeches when people are paying hundreds more for groceries is not going to secure you a second term.

Part of the issue is that companies question the judgment of applicants who knowingly joined a firm with an asset cap, consent decrees, and a growing union. Someone asked me how I can work for a firm that has harmed so many consumers and that they worry about clients who have their accounts at Wells. Wells Fargo has a poor reputation so that is a hurdle.

Thanks to offshoring for that. This company and country are digging a grave for its people.

the applicant count in LinkedIn is highly inaccurate and represents howanynpeie have looked the posting, not actually applied.

Every time I get a new job alert from LinkedIn, there are already more than 100 applicants within 24 hours. I have never seen this before.
