Great, who's next?

Looks like we have a trend brewing in the corporate world. Mandate a relocation that makes employees want to quit. That's a win for the company. News about Walmart staffing...

Post ID: @6fpx+1sww5aCb- no return to office policy right now, but if we are sold off in a fire sale to Cigna a couple of years from now that may no longer be the case.

There is no return office policy that is going to be enforced because we have closed over 100 locations with more to shutter by the end of the year. Not to mention, LOU is closing towers so there is no way they could hold 67k+ employees.

What are yall even talking about? I've seen a lot of people get coached out on a PIP during my 10 years. Saying Humana is keeping low performers on purpose makes you sound like a conspiracy theorist. Most older associates are given the option of severance or be laid off based on...you guessed it, METRICS!

Many of those exceptional employees are older with a lot of tenure. I am seeing many older associates who do a great job being set up to fail and given all of the garbage to manage or put out to pasture. If you’re popular and stroke the right person, you will always have a job, no matter how bad your performance might be!

“ We have lost many exceptional employees over the last six month“

TRUTH.

Management has an obsession with keeping low performers just because they were with the company for 10 years. This drives the good people away.
The thing is great people always find jobs regardless of the economy.

We don’t have a Humana office at all in my city of over 6 million.

This has nothing to do with Humana and to my knowledge there is a 0% chance there is any return to office plan. Humana is a primarily remote company, and lots of employees with remote prior to COVID as well. I would be shocked if that ever happens. 80% of my team is non Kentucky based.

To my knowledge Humana has not required anybody to relocate at this point. You cannot compare Walmart and Humana. As a former poster alluded to, many companies are using these sorts of tactics to get people to quit because they don’t want to pay severance. Some Medicaid contracts require that associates live in the state covered by the contract. Medicare does not care where people live. Humana is going to do what Humana is going to do. Learn to play the game folks. Humana is no longer a premier employer as they were 10 to 15 years ago. We have lost many exceptional employees over the last six months to early retirement and other managed care companies. It’s all going to implode at some point so hang on for the ride.

Due to reimbursement issues, some states mandate you live in the state vs remote

#1 - post an article that doesn’t require a sub
#2 - I don’t understand why this is an issue. If you are a great contributor to your team, there should be no fear.

I personally witness that a lot of associates that have horrible work ethic think they are owed something just because they live in Louisville or have been there for over 5 years and “have always got an AIP”. I’d love to see these same people interview for jobs in different markets because they would get a huge awakening.

All companies are doing this these days, cause they don't want to pay severance or unemployment benefits, or whatever benefits you should be allocated if they lay you off. If you don't say Yes to relocation, then basically you are resigning on your own and the company doesn't have to pay for unemployment or severance or health benefits (or whatever benefits you would get after a layoff).
