There was a thread making completely sensible and respectful criticisms of Nike’s implementation of DEI which was removed. What the fu-k??? It had like a net +20 upvotes.

Huh. Looks like some comments are being selectively deleted too. There was one talking about how our DEI leadership leveraged their position for physical “relationships”.
Did it somehow break this site’s rules? Is Nike’s HR paying to bury more crimes & headlines?
Nike's DEI agenda is for only one race. There are very few Asians in the upper level of Nike but that isn't what the company is looking for, diversity is not the concern. Look at the market- Asians purchase many more shoes than most but it isn't about representing our customers, is it about representing Oregon (NOPE), it's about a specific agenda. Diversity is a must, but let us remember that we should include all including white, asian, hispanic, Indian, American Indian etc.
Under qualified individuals have been quickly escalated to roles 1-2 levels above their true capacity to meet our demographic KPIs. Often nice people, but ineffective and not up to standards for what should be expected from leadership roles

The post had a couple of comments with some very rude language and full names (with some letters replaced) of people in it. Not at all sensible.
Sad how even the slightest criticism of how DEI is being implemented will be immediately labeled as racist or misogynistic. Leaves no room for discussion or critical thought
@jnz The word “socialism” has an actual meaning. Specifically it refers to an economic system where the means of production are mostly collectively organized and owned for the common good.
Conservatives misuse the word “socialism” about as much as liberals misuse the word “racism”. It has become little more than a buzzword to apply to anything they don’t like.
You can criticize Nike and JD or anyone who is a white male, but you are not allowed to criticize the Woke Regime, favored identity groups or progressive leftists.
They are all WAY too insecure (for good reason) to tolerate criticism.
The post didn’t even talk about loss of jobs, it was talking about failing leadership

I read the thread OP is mentioning. There were no names, racism, or profanity. It was a well-written criticism of Nike pushing DEI. It even mentioned that diversity was a good thing, just not how Nike was forcing it.
This site has a lot of whitewashing washing of white. Accept the censorship for what it is or move on. Shouldn’t be new for anyone that’s worked for a Portland based company
The thread was made by someone who probably got hired by a white dude, more than likely had an exit conviction led by a white dude, spent their entire career with a white dude as CEO but honestly believes DEI is to blame

I think your definition of "sensible" might be different than the admins' here.
Dropping names, getting racist, and excessive profanity are some of the reasons, I'd guess.
