Does anyone feel there were some coworkers that were let go who were targeted by their own leadership/VPs? Maybe a a Manager, Director or Senior Director that put the team first, drove top line and kpii results and maybe seamed like a future Nike leader on the executive team. Can we be specific as possible, initials and title perhaps? I just feel wonderful coworkers were tossed by leaders who felt threatened by their own so called Nike top talent.

Yes. I know people who were laid off who could do their and their bosses job and were constantly shoved in a corner out of fear and cliques. Those who stayed don’t do work, but spend their time gossiping, creating drama, and being playing angles. The ones who were laid off were talented and made a difference.
There’s a certain Sr Dir I know in GT who had beef with his subordinates. There were whacked in Phase 2.
HR is useless, self important, vastly overpaid paper pushers is all.. Their only job is to try to protect the company from lawsuits. They don’t care about talent development or people assuming there is an endless supply of kool aid drivker Nike drones to exploit.
This was absolutely the case in my org
This is the issue when HR doesn’t have a consistent talent mapping and development process across the org. Leaders don’t know their people and their skill sets, and they don’t care to find out. When it comes to layoffs they just choose who they know and like to stay, not even getting to know if the people they identify to be let go can be of value anywhere else in the company. I am shocked how terrible hR is in this company - what value do they actually drive? Definitely not a leader in their field compared to other companies. Maybe MM needs some training. Been a hot minute since she got some outside in perspective
100% this happened. JM from GT TPMO was let go and he was an amazing leader.
This is totally true. Its happened all over by specific VPs who hold their favorites:
DA - Global Tech
SB - Analytics
NR - Finance
This place is worse than King Henry V court. Favoritism, Nepotism all rolled in with a bullsh-t facade of DEI by an HR Leader who has been here since 1998.
