Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Attendance and Badging requirements are not the same for all…

Please don’t take this the wrong way, these badging and duration requirements for exempt employees are completely ridiculous. That said, if you get to work from home on Fridays, enjoy it. WFH Fridays are not in place for all orgs, some groups are held to a much higher standard in terms of swipes and average hours in office. In those cases, Workday Unlimited R&R is definitely not factored in at all, 80%+ attendance over a 5 day work week is required along with a 9 hour average duration. I think there is a game among the executive team to see how hard each org can push their attendance to the breaking point just for bragging rights with FB. #toxicfiserv

I’ve talked with people outside of this company on the treatment… people are shocked and can hardly believe it…cameras everywhere/badging in and out counts/keystroke counts/software evaluation of what you are working on…totally disrespectful to adults… this is not a prison but awful treatment…then I’m told today if it’s just two people on a teams call your work isn’t counted…this company deserves the terrible reputation they have built

Oh yes the expansion of the detailed monitoring/badging/sapience/clicking count can only further enhance the low morale widespread .. oh yes the exe mgmt are thriving on this detail… feels more like prison…young people don’t stay here… this is not a normal adult work environment!

“bEfOrE cOvId…” Shut up. Ya sound d-mb. Everyone knows we were PRAISED for how well we worked during the pandemic due largely in part to our WFH status. Without commutes many of us were working long hours and didn’t have a problem with it. The workplace post-pandemic has been unbearable, not because of the hours, but because of the micromanagement, spyware, and all of the lies.

" Im paid to cover my tasks/projects and make sure they deploy successfully and on time."

It's so funny to hear management defend working over 40-50 hours with the statement "You're not hourly - you're a professional." Of course, if there were ever a light week and you said, "Hey. This professional's gonna cut out at 30 hours.", management would come unhinged.

In fairness, that's not just a Fiserv thing - that's just about everywhere. "You're a professional" always means "Work more hours". Always.

“Paid for a full days work”

Im not a construction worker stacking bricks or digging a ditch. Im paid to cover my tasks/projects and make sure they deploy successfully and on time.

The boomer idea that I need to sit in an office for 8 hours everyday may have worked for the generation with the best economic opportunity in human history, but that generation also sold out. The country and currency are going down the drain. Im not a slave and im not sitting in a corporate prison for wages that dont keep up with inflation. Smd

You don't really get paid for on call, it only reduces you overall pay per hour. This is just another example of how the company steals your time for less money. Try doing it the other way around and watch how fast the company will come against you. Steal some time back and it will not be the same. Salary/exempt employees are not slaves and we should not be treated as such.

Leadership is nothing but lies. CA from GBS tech lied through his teeth on his town hall on Friday. He had previously said we were 4 days, now denied it, and even said Frank didn’t mean we should have 4 days in the office. A true sack of s—t!

@1ivl+1ssAfe1w at the start of my career I often came into the office at weekend or after hours if there was an issue or a high priority delivery. Then laptops, vpns and cloud technologies became the norm and this was no longer necessary.

We were heading towards more hybrid work arrangements ahead of Covid, Covid just speed it up. It’s not toxic to expect people to do a full days work but it is toxic to not recognise that work isn’t fixed to a location. It is toxic to show disregard to the impact on an employees quality of life who has a long commute when the benefit of having them in the office is negligible.

The reason behind pushing everyone back to the office full time could be to increase attrition but from what I have seen I believe it’s motivated by a lack of trust. It’s old school leadership that measures based on input rather than looking at outputs. Funnily enough despite the desire to increase productivity we do the opposite of everything you should do to develop a high performance team and culture

Bottom line results improve when employees leave.

Top line results improve when the customers leave.

Frank is trying very hard to improve results.

Everything makes sense when you consider Frank's strategy. As long as you ignore the long term consequences and inevitable death of the company, Frank has a short term winning strategy here.

Isn't director higher grade level? Associates should not be expected to match.

The higher paid positions are expected to still work while OOO…director and below should not be on the same expectations

Some groups and high grade levels are pushing the 5 days a week in the office and 8-5 which is 9 hours.

This shouldn’t be too shocking. Before covid a lot of people worked M-F 8-5 in the office. It was the standard.

I know many employees who are putting in way more than 9 hours a day, especially if they are on call, are on major incidents, or are in implementation groups.

There is nothing toxic about having an expectation that you should put in a full days of work since you are being paid for it

The R&R part is just spreading untruths to support this negative discourse
