I find it quite interesting the people who have been able to not only keep their jobs but have been promoted all have personal relationships to the RM. Layoff after layoff, they survive. None of them follow the trend of getting rid of the high paying folks, some are long term (over25 years), lost scholl contracts, any other folks from their location termiated..but this handful thrive, get pay increases, promotions. Hand chosen favorites. I dont know how they can continue to drink the Kool Aid, and stil cheerlead for a company that has destroyed so many prole.

They would never be able to tell you how to get those things done because SB doesn’t even know what we do at the store level. They also don’t care if you ki-l yourself trying to get it done.
This is so true. I was demoted as an experienced employee during the layoff of a year ago, and a new, inexperienced person was promoted because she was vocal about wanting promotions and su-ked up to the RM.
Sounds very similar to my area (northeast). For the past 20 years under performing store managers have been promoted, all personal connections to the RM.
I was more than happy to get out when I did. My RM-you knew who were "the chosen" few.
I wish someone in the tower would share how one person, me, can take care of graduation, returns, foot traffic and orders and not die trying.
Still here. I don’t know why. Trying to leave. Applying everywhere.
Easy answer...
$$$$
Why them and not you?
Three guesses and the first two don't count.
The sad thing is the people who are holding on because it has to get better.
Sorry to say it appears that JRC is taking every dime out of the company and paying their investors.
Who knows, maybe the Follett family will buy it back for pennies on the dollar, divest it of bad contracts and start again?
