What is notice period in HPE? I was laid off in Plano tx with two weeks notice.

Absolutely not, that's why I air quoted it. Its a complete sham of a program. They 100% want you out of the company for the cost savings, finding another role would defeat that purpose entirely.
You don't really believe that stuff about a 'preferential rehire' phase, do you? If you do, I have a bridge to sell you. No really. At a great price.
I hope you used all your vacation in that two weeks.
2 weeks is standard, then you lose access to internal network. But are still in the 'preferential rehire' phase for a few more weeks.
