Does anyone feel like management is looking for ways to put you into coaching or a PIP? Seems like Humana wants to get rid of people without paying severance. Thoughts?

In the short time I've been at Humana, I've experienced the average employee being 10 years behind on the work tools available. We are still using way too many manual processes and pdf's which could easily be automated and given through user prompted data visualization software and reports. So, I think a combination of the home office being in a town where the public school system has failed them for years, along with the above challenges, you may exactly be out of touch or 'managed out' compared with other health plan companies.
I had the personal pleasure of being forced out of my long term position. Caused me a lot of stress at the time. I fought back and sued them through EEOC. Claimed they were anti American and discriminated against older workers. I did receive a nice settlement for my trouble. If you feel this is happening to you make sure that you keep a record of any discriminatory incident. Humana is counting on the global migrant insurance racket, most likely administered through a racist AI system. This is scary stuff. Be careful out there.
YES! I knew something was up! Is there no grievance policy?
“Grandmas with no real skills? That’s a bit harsh”
It might be harsh but it is true. There are four that we are stuck with so we have to rely on the India team to do what can be done in-house.
Grandmas with no real skills? That’s a bit harsh
“ bullied them right on out with the help of an ineffective pushover leader. They also treat people really bad so they leave.”
That might work but sometimes it ends very badly. I have personally known people who don’t take this kind of stuff lying down.
Out of curiosity, have you heard about the “dc mansion mu---rs”? Check it out. That was also employee/employer related.
Management has become a problem. Insisting on keeping people who their grandma went to school win first grade is making us full of grandmas with no real skills.
Just happened to someone I know. They pi$$ed some real nasty people off and the bullied them right on out with the help of an ineffective pushover leader. They also treat people really bad so they leave.
Who cares. The writing is on the wall. You will either be removed or your work conditions will worsen. Act now, independently, or wait until there is another mass layoff and you're left fighting for other jobs. Seriously, there is life outside Humana. They are bad employers and the deck is stacked against you.
They don’t need to give you severance if they want to fire you. You can be fired for basically anything in the USA. Severance is standard but not required.
Your Manager wants to, or has been Directed to, Reduce Headcount by “Any Means Necessary . . . “ When economists, investors or Senior Management expect that economic contraction may likely take place in coming months or years many employers decide to act preemptively and surreptitiously to reduce personnel overhead, without admitting it publicly. Thus, twenty people may lose their jobs by being “managed out,” but there is no public word of “layoffs,” and minimal if any severance expense, even though layoffs are taking place.
Our clients who are HR professionals have shared with us that in this context Managers are often provided by senior management (a) headcount reduction targets, (b) headcount reduction deadlines, and (c) very limited or no severance monies in their budgets, thus setting the stage for Managers, with little choice, having to resort to “managing out” employees to meet such quotas and deadlines.
I've seen it happen. But it was only to force someone out of our team, not terminate them. It starts with gaslighting....
