I’m not allowed to contact anyone who was on my team, including my manger, but I’m curious.
All I know was that a lot of managers in my portfolio were called into hq on short notice today for a secret meeting.

@rqe+1sq5vV0c - The First Amendment prevents the United States Government from infringing upon freedom of speech. It does not otherwise protect you from the consequences of your words by employers.
OP - you have my empathy. I understand it’s scary and you feel blindsided. Take a few days to gather yourself. USB is not the end all, be all of employers. You can find something better.
Hey guys - I understand the frustration with the lack of details but I’d really appreciate some empathy here. I just lost my income and am not in the right headspace for arguing; I was really just trying to see if there was anything happening with the larger picture since I was cut off from communication.
Believe me, id love to vent and name names but the market is terrible in my field and I really can’t jeopardize my relationship with the contracting vendor. I’m sorry.
Also just want to point out that it’s a little messed up that we’re being unkind to each other when really it’s usb that’s the enemy here.
You can't share company secrets, but you can say you were laid off and what department.
Tell me you don’t know what freedom of speech means w/o telling me.
@mef+1sq5vV0c - because, as a contractor, I’m still beholden to that vendor’s rules unfortunately as I still have a relationship with them. So I can’t give too many identifying details especially since I don’t know if I was the only one.
Outside of that meeting I heard about, I really don’t know much else anyways.
and who told you you couldn’t talk to anybody? Cards are on the table at this point you can talk to whoever you want to. You can name names all about freedom of speech.
The whole point of this forum is to give details....why even post if you're going to be so vague..
