Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

What percentage are we expecting now ?

Given the dismal guidance for earnings, and clear indication of employees reduction, what is the % reduction we are expecting now ?

It's NOT 2 weeks for every year, it's 1 week up to a max of 20.

Around 30-40 contract employees were clipped last week from Cambridge ON plant.

The severance package, if applicable, typically includes 2 weeks pay for every 1 year of service.

This is all cost cutting and a show for the shareholders. I wish they would post the numbers of people at VP or higher and in what areas. I bet there will be very few. This will also let them shift the work more to the 3:1, 4:1 locations like India and Columbia.

I would have thought companies would have learned for the wave of outsourcing in the early/mid 2000s that it doesn't always work as well as you think. But those people who learned it then have jumped to several companies since repeating the same and attempting to get different results.

Over 20 years at RA for me and got the axe. They laid off a disproportionate number of older employees, aka "they cost too much".

Can't wait to see what RA does when China goes to war, they will be sc--wed.

Brake sorbet. Spoken like a new a-s who doesn’t value the wisdom of longevity and experience. I bet you think you should change jobs every 16 months. Come back when you have a monument to success. Change is inevitable and evolution is required but a fool thinks revolution is needed on a well run company. I’m sure you think Tesla and nvidia valuations will be timeless.

It's OK, we can do both, complain about the sh--e SVP Leadership as well as their VP/Director cronies. The people that should be laid off are the useless sacks who have been their 20+ years and only know what worked 20 years ago so let's keep doing that. It worked in 1990, it must still work now right???

Heard your ceo also pulled jobs for new grads and fired LDPs. Mortgage the future to hit an EPS. CEOs are paid to balance short term and long term. He can fly to Davis, go on Jim Kramer but can’t lead his way out of a wet paper bag. He is a fraud. He is leaving a leadership void that will hamper his successor. The board needs to get rid of him. Oh wait, he picked all his buddies and they all make $359k a year “advising” him.

Your ceo is terrible. Total turnover of leadership. Squanders internal talent and lets them walk out the door and brings in people who don’t know the business. IT,Sales, cfo, strategy-M&A,…. Used to have 200 years of collective leadership. Now, Nardechia is long tenured. Who’s gone and could have stayed longer to bring value (Marty Thomas, Ernest,Sujeet, McDermott, Fran, Frank, Patrick,O’Reilly…). All driven out or left early. Replaced -some multiple times! BM changed the culture alright. To a toxic sh-tshow. His motto should be “ if you want to be the smartest guy in the room, fire everyone who knows more “. Brilliant. Bring in the activist investor or hostile acquirer….

This sounds a lot like all employees are equal, but some employees are more equal than others. If you can't practice what you preach, then it is time for you move on.

To the people complaining about a particular VP in SWC for being remote, haven't you noticed that the SVP for SWC relocated to Florida when he took the job to avoid state income taxes? Sure, he comes into the office a lot, but wow that's a lot of travel expenses. A good chunk of the SVPs have virtual locations. Maybe complain about their hypocrisy instead of the VPs who openly acknowledge that the policies are d-mb.

They only layoff people at manager level and below. Director, VP and up are safe. He will probably be there for another 20 years unless he mu---rs someone or decides to leave

Target audience: North America
I think a good way to show we don't approve of the compensation disparities between management and non-management roles is to not participate in any company sponsored/promoted charitable giving campaign, i.e. UPAF, United Way and I would even include blood drives. Simply select the 'no' option or enter zero dollars. You can still support charities, but I would suggest giving directly to the charity of your choice - don't use a company link. Why let the company take credit for your good deed?

Quite a lot of the Commercial Operations team took a hit yesterday - 30-35 by our investigating.

Absolutely ridiculous that we have to piece information together from Teams statuses and anonymous forums.

Well done Rockwell on great demonstration on how not to handle layoffs - no comms, no assurances of severance, no transparency, no sh--s given at all.

It's such a shame that so many good and talented people had to be sacrificed so that leadership (POOR LEADERSHIP) can keep their multi-million dollar salaries + multi-million dollar bonuses AND give themselves 50-75% raises (while eliminating our merit increases). So many (including myself) were punished because of bad financial decisions made by people at the top. Apparently Scott Genereux doesn't believe in support personnel and set out to eliminate support teams from his day 1. Mission accomplished. And oh how I wish I hadn't seen what Blake Moret makes per year. It's sickening. Good luck Rockwell with that 'self-serve' mentality. You're going to have a lot of frustrated sellers who can't get any selling done because they're busy self-serving.

I'll look back on this day in a month or two and say I'm glad it happened. But today, I'm just sad for all the people whose lives were changed in a 25 minute Teams call.

Marketing and Global Portfolio Engineering are being torn up. Teams are being reorganized, folks with 20+ years of experience are being shown the door with zero notice. Managers aren't being given any warning ahead of time and the rest of us are finding out who's gone based on Teams statuses going gray or "email not delivered" messages to people. It's absolute chaos and everyone is (rightfully) extremely stressed/worried because there's no way to tell if your job is safe for the next day or even hours. Good luck to everyone.

Top IT leaders should be fired first, very unethical and don’t have enough knowledge. Business leaders have zero confidence on IT.

It’s sad. I left the company for a new job only a month or two before the RIFs started. Good timing I guess. Was interesting when I showed the offer and said I’d stay if they could match the salary increase (never mind the annual bonus percentage increase), and they dragged their feet until 2 days later I submitted my resignation letter. I said sorry! I’m not going to burn bridges. HR had the audacity to ask me where the “miscommunication” came from; nowhere, I didn’t have a written counter in the timeline I needed it in, which I gave to you.

Well, now I know why. 8 years of service , learned a lot, and primed me for the job I’m in now.

Any news in sales and marketing? It seems to be oddly focused on engineering at this point which is not what I would have expected. Thursdays seem to be the witching day historically so we will see what the new day brings.

I got impacted recently my manager and this person's boss has no clue what they do, they made several decisions which caused RA to lose money and it continuously does if they along with their close associates are making decisions. I am sure they will have jobs even during these layoffs. They are only loyal to themselves. That whole department is a big disaster. RA used to lot better.

Meetings going on today where top brass are telling MEQ people the “actions are now over”, interesting there’s article in Milwaukee Biz Journal stating executives will not receive bonuses this year, but when asked about that in meetings wasn’t a direct answer lots of tip toeing when it comes to executive raises and bonuses, guess the world will find out when 10-K gets published, can’t tip toe around that one!

Just got cut from MIL mfr. and from the looks of things, many more did throughout MIL/MEQ. I'd say close to 70 from supply chain ALONE. Now I see why they pushed merit pay to the summer...

It’s not just NA - Poland which is low cost for us got hit on 5/20 - if you paid attention to Blake it was going to cost $60M in restructuring costs - took that and prob just gave BU and ISC leadership numbers to hit, simple

LVD - MEQ, Sr. Director, multiple EE and ME

Motion MEQ/Poland - MANY Contractors, business ops, no FTE thus far

Quality - MEQ/MKE Post release quality manager, multiple QAE’s

MEQ Ops - Unknown number of operators/leads, confirming today (5/21)

Keep hearing actions will continue this week and complete by Friday, sounds like the managers/directors are getting individual meetings in MEQ and MKE with higher levels this week, some think will be for managers to get cut, others assume to get lists of who they will have to cut, uncertainty continues to reign supreme.

We continue to confirm SAP deactivated accounts and are building algorithm to delineate RIF from maintenance

My firmware team remains untouched which all of us are still in shock given we’ve heard firmware in SIC and S&C BU’s we’re some of the first casualties

Been hearing talk and rumors in MKE manufacturing line of attempts to unionize in response, don’t think would be successful without plant people though.

How about Blake and senior management stop flying private RA jets! Reducing the 8-10 dedicated positions that it takes to maintain and fly these jets is ridiculous. There is a good 8-10 full time RA positions to keep the jets in the sky. And not to even mention the RA hangar in Milwaukee. If senior management really cared about the RA workers, sell the jets! Blake doesn't give a sh@t about us, only his own pocket book!
