I survived but it is not as if things got back to normal. I want to know what others are experiencing in their teams? Is it only me being paranoid and anxious despite the fact I survived?
Suddenly everyone feels nervous and roles and responsibilities are blurred and not so clear... I have coworkers from across the function suddenly stepping into my projects, managers suddenly become micro manager, open positions are being advertised left and right but with no real clarity on their responsibilities mostly like a copy paste from some old written adds.... Is this a pahse? Am I over thinking or others also feel and observe the same??? What is happening 😳

What defines a botched layoff? This literally has felt like '17, '20, '21 and '24. All the same, "good bye to teammates", "ok new flying formation", "moving forward".
Same speeches, same scenarios. I really don't know what a botched reorg looks like other than 2017 was absolutely brutal and the people who won back then "celebrated" people being exited. This time, it seems like everyone still has the same low morale. 2020 just brought endless reorgs with no straight direction other than "CDA".
Just curious what your definition of botched is.
The company is in trouble, the botched layoffs have left everyone feeling the same thing you are. There is zero chance the current regime is able to improve things.
Completely normal. It’s a combination of survivor’s guilt with a little thought that never leaves the back of your mind asking “How long will it be until it’s my turn to be unceremoniously dumped like yesterday’s laundry? A month? A year? Three years?”
This all gets compounded by knowing the company is struggling in a way that’s unfamiliar to anyone who’s been around awhile. This set back feels different. For a long time the company’s success and market dominance was pretty much just assumed. But now real competition is showing up. At the same time when consumer tastes are shifting faster and faster. At this point in time there’s also less confidence that the right leadership is in place to fix things.
It’s all unsettling. That’s why you’re anxious.
The vibe is very weird all over. It’s like layoffs are still happening
EMEA is still going…
I don’t know dude but I feel the same way 100%. Sh*t is weird AF.
