Don’t Bother Doing Pulse Survey

Our supervisor said to us today if we don’t take the Pulse survey do not bother him about vacation days. Is this completely absurd? This company is ridiculous. I asked our HR rep if this is a good way of acting as a supervisor and her response was “sorry I can not comment on this situation”

How are they forcing you to do the survey? Are they making you take it then share your link with them so they can see it is complete maybe making you take it while they watch under threat of detention?

We're forced to do the surveys, so I just put N/A for each answer

Do not do the Pulse survey, your concerns will not be addressed. All this survey does is see what groups are “problem groups” in HR terms. They will not address the concern and you are actually helping your director by simply doing the survey no matter bad rating or good. So my advice is DO NOT DO IT

Actually you shouldn’t do them because it just gives them information to use against us and many internal groups credit for getting people to fill it out.

What would those meetings weeks after pulse be like if instead of showing mediocre or bad result they had no results at all. No idea what groups or locations were disgruntled. No verbatims to twist against us.

Someone’s bonus is tied to those Pulse Surveys being completed. Local Manager, Area Manager, Director etc. Usually when there is a big push on a metric or a pulse survey it is directly impacting someone in management’s bottom line IMO

Go above that HR person to their manager/director. It's worked for me.

Wish I didn’t do the survey yesterday, my responses would be very different today.

I would write that feedback in the survey. Maybe there leader will see the comments and care?

Pulse surveys are VOLUNTARY not mandatory, remind him. Besides if they are anonymous how would he know you did or did not complete. They only get a total count as to how many employees completed the survey.

Vacation days are typically picked in November or December the year before, so they're already set and you're entitled to vacation days... So whatever he is referring to is nonsense, and OP needs to brush up on the "little red bible" if you believe your supervisor's drivel here.
