Contract renewals are happening in my department
Nike has way more than 7500 Contractors. Unless you mean FLEX/BL only
I’m an ETW in global and 3/4ths of my fellow ETWs were notified their contracts were not going to be renewed and as a result their agencies terminated them or notified them of their impending termination by the end of the month. My agency was notified that our contracts are all going to expire but we weren’t given an end date, however we were notified that all of our contracts were removed from our org’s budget.
The people managers in my org are pi---d because they weren’t notified that they would be losing all of these resources. My agency is pi---d because there’s a new 3rd party in place to handle all of this, and they don’t know anything about the contracts and basically only have comms with VPs who couldn’t care less about the ETW grunts way down the line.
I’m trying to stay optimistic, but it definitely seems like there is going to be a huge cut to ETW staffing, at least in the short term. Leadership has been trying to “streamline and automate” work for a long time, and what better way to test that than getting rid of a ton of contracts? They’ll realize how much they shot themselves in the foot in a few months and then you’ll see a ton of contract roles open up again. Unfortunately they’ll likely have cut a ton of multi-year ETWs who know the work and the business in the process.
I hope I’m wrong, but just relaying what I’m seeing and hearing on the ground.
This happens every Christmas and end of FY, just trying to squeeze last penny from the few vendors who still work with Nike. 80-90% ETW will be renewed because Nike leaders will come up with excuses and it’ll be allowed

Agree. Nike is terrible at planning. Soon they will realize they’re not staffed appropriately and will have to extend contracts and add additional ETW’s.
