What are the warning signs that you are about to be laid off with Wellsfargo? Do they send you a mass email to tell you? Or Do they send meeting invites first thing in the morning?

@msj+1sierqKA, so in other words, many managers could have been lying to us, pretending that they didn't know about layoffs.
@qtl+1sierqKA,
"Formerly in HR at WF, they have displacement case with the cohorts of impacted people identified and approved months in advance. You get no or minimal pre-notice of your displacement day, but they've planned for months."
Thank you very much. You have confirmed our theory.
lol, My one-on-one has been canceled since January.
I am sure there is a step-by-step layoff guide for managers.
@brx+1sierqKA, you made one little mistake by coming back to Wells Fargo. This bank is doomed. Once we get let go, we should not seek a rehire position at Wells Fargo at all. I am serious. This applies to everyone.
I got laid off there in 2021. I just logged on that morning and manager pinged me via teams asking if I had a second to talk. God, I knew it then.
Signs:
Being asked to keep a log if your work.
Being asked to keep a list of daily activities.
Management scrambling back up plans.
Manager avoiding you.
Meetings, especially 1:1 meetings Being canceled at last minute.
Are you based in the US and not an executive? There's your sign, layoff is a matter of time.
Formerly in HR at WF, they have displacement case with the cohorts of impacted people identified and approved months in advance. YOu get no or minimal pre-notice of your displacement day, but they've planned for months.
No warning & recommend to have your resume updated at all times.
Also, don’t stay in banking as a “career” as it is doomed.
I was laid off in 2022, we did not see if coming at all. Showed up to work like any other day, started handling my duties. My team had a call scheduled with a higher up, but I didn't think anything of it. (I was a teal lead and we always had calls with managers etc). They just broke the news and said we all had to go effective immediately. I was SHOCKED. We had tons is work and there's no warning signs at all.
Same thing happened in my current role (yes, I came back to WF). 5 or 6 were laid off about 8 months ago out of the blue. Obviously they had planned for this months in advanced, but did not care to give a heads up at all.
@zst+1sierqKA I feel you!! that is how it went down for me.
I’m so very sorry.
I just got laid off today and my manager messaged me in Teams to see if I had a minute to chat. No other warning, in fact I was included in a strategic planning meeting that ended 5 minutes before that…
These things can be possible signs:
You are being asked to train a new guy from India
You are being asked to document everything you are doing
You are assigned to a special project
Your manager becomes quiet and distances himself/herself
Your manager keeps rescheduling or cancelling bi-weekly 1on1 meetings
Your manager stops talking to you, saying he/she is too busy with other meetings
A friend just got displaced & she had the invite on her calendar for a week
Ask you to document your work
Train someone else
Turn on video so people can see whether you look old and gray
