A meeting invitation “CONFIDENTIAL” is scheduled for tomorrow by my manager. Should I be worried?

yes?
We all got it and a few of us synched up on who was on which call since the invite didn’t show who all was on which call. I thought I was getting the axe.
Turned out the earlier calls were the people that got laid off. Last call was those who didn’t get laid off.
OP, did you survive or got let you go?
👍 YES
This how we found out about folks being displaced in our group.
My manager knew in advance, but he surprised me to prevent deleting my work for H1b and OPTs to learn.
Your manager might layoff your coworkers and just want to let YOU know. Might not be you!!!
When I got axed last year, no meeting invite. My manager just called me through Teams when he saw I was online. After the meeting I had access for at least an hour. Sooo, there is no set way they go about this.
Assume you are getting the axe and be prepared to log off and never look back.
@1iuf+1shqHP08, I got my meeting invite the night before. There is no solid pattern here.
There is no requirement to say or not to say "confidential", your managers can label the meeting any way they want. Usually they don't want you to broadcast your layoff to other people and cause a panic prior to your departure. As soon as your morning meeting with your manager is finished, you will be asked to log off and shut off your computer right away.
If the meeting is early in the morning, your life at Wells Fargo as you know is now officially over.
Yeah, sounds like you are going to be told of a team member or members getting the axe.
pro tip: see who ISN'T invited to the meeting.....
When I was whacked, there was no 'confidential', that's reserved for the 'survivors'.............
Too early. I got my meeting invite three minutes before it started.
Genuine question: Do the displacement meetings at WF have to state “confidential” in the invite/body? Like is that part of the script the Manager is required to follow?
What time? If it’s around 9am and your manager has never scheduled a meeting that early before then “YES”.
Bring a box in to work, just in case.
Sounds like it. Or you're going to be told that one of your coworkers just got the boot & you need to take on their responsibilities, in addition to yours. It's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
Any chance you could provide LOB?
Oh No!!! It's over. You are finished.
😮
OMG! Tomorrow is the Tuesday after payday. My condolences.
Congratulations!
You should probably have your stuff in a box.
Depends. If you are like most of the posters here you will be getting your wish. If you are not, hope for the best and pray it’s just an HR investigation.
