I thought I wouldn't dread work anymore once layoffs were over. Apparently, I thought wrong.

(Current employee) (that doesn't gaf anymore) so we were all told couple months ago about some layoffs, we were like eh whatever there are some trash workers fu---t let's get rid of them, so this entire thing ended up being the way you guys are negativly describing the situation. For some reason the good workers were the first to go , (the on timers that work fast and cover shifts) I guess this was there way to further get rid of ppl down the line, ppl that are forced to call out , etc. that's what ended up happening so within October - now half the staff is gone. Somehow for legitimate reasons (shady leaders) so they hired new ppl, I assumed with good judgment , everyone they hired was sh-t (late no call no shows never learned anything) they are going to be complete w their seasonal this summer and all they did was get a easy check. I beleive this is also a tactic to make other employees quit, making them uncomfortable on how hard they work and seeing others do nothing not get scolded for it, This also destroyed the stores income in a lot of ways, (I don't think the GM realized how much we were making in the store and that it all had to do with the stores dynamic and everyone being cool w eachother) so stats are trash, theft is up, regardless they keep playing the same game. From what I see within these months of layoffs, the CEO doesn't care about stores making less ( as much as your gm says they care) they don't. They are willing to take the L to get rid of all associates / assistant managers etc. my question is how is this even legal??? Im a student so I'm really chill about this this isn't my lively hood. But it looks disgusting from my POV. And it doesn't make sense. Also new GMs are designed to be "unpleasant" robots I've seen mine trigger and antagonize my associates w her sarcasm. I've contacted HR about this weeks ago, I ended up finding out HR is just for the paper trail, at the end of the day HR will protect their GMs and managers before any associate. And they will not help. If you have a issue your better off emailing your store owner directly, that's what will have your GM shaking. LOLL Nike is down bad! They gotta be careful w the people that don't give a fu-k about burning bridges. We out here !!
I feel fortunate after getting let go with my aunt giving my family a few million after the win. I shall take a small break and perhaps treat some of my coworkers who were also let go to a nice dinner.
Today was yucky.
So yucky.
@@bqx+1shDyZcI The lies included but certainly not limited to
- Your job performance matters = Nope didn't matter at all period, cronies were promoted and repeat "Exceptional" and "Highly Successful" were canned
- Senior directors had no input = BS arbitrary ranking sheets were provided to Bane, ranked according to the senior director's favorites and as* kissers
- You matter = Repeatedly called "teammates" by these two faced pieces of shi*
Basically every time anyone above a director opens their filthy pie holes the yare lying to cover their as* because it's the only way to survive and advance at this putrid wasteland.
I’m so sorry, I feel really sad. It could be great, but at the end of the day, it’s heartbreakingly not.
What were the lies?
Same here, we always knew we were being lied to but this past 4 months has taken it to a whole other level. We have been lied to by everyone above the Director level. We will never take their BS seriously ever again, spouting off about “innovation” and “team” ring more hollow than ever. The brand isn’t cool anymore Nike is dead RIP.
I’ve felt that way since I left college but people are starting to realize work is work, and not fun. Glad we see eye to eye together.
I have an awful feeling and dread as I drive in. Long time friends gone, no faith in SLT and my direct leadership. And we know changes aren’t over even as VPs lie in their comms.
I really feel the same and hate to go to work today. I woke up with anxiety. My manager got promoted because he did a great job backstabbing a few folks and self promoting. Now he is like being on dr-g... So excited his strategy has worked and now he is doing it again but at a larger scale....
Employee who was exited here.
Yes, it is scary to go and find a job in this market.
But being honest, it was a good Sunday yesterday - knowing I was not going to face the bullying and harassment we all faced in GT for many years.
And I feel sick dreading having to look for a new job. Nike has successfully destroyed the people who they let go, as well as the people who are still there. No one wins or feels good.
Thanks for posting. Same here. Dont trust anything or anyone. Don’t see the purpose of anything at all.
