What's actually going on with Technology strategy? I'm not buying into location narrative as the primary reason for so many changes. There's heavy outsourcing not just to make-shift disposable India support staff but to third party apps and external hosting w a dash of AI. Within 5 to 10 years, I can see the tech org reduced by two thirds leaving mostly staff with PO or BA type of roles.

That sounds like a you problem. Don’t hate on them for not being brainwashed into not setting boundaries.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me for 80 hours a week…
Most of my experience with India employees is them leaving to take a lunch break in the middle of troubleshooting incidents or leaving because their shift was over.
Here is the thing, there are many of us US workers that are working all hours of the day and night because being exempt means no overtime pay. 70-80 hour work weeks are paid the same as 40 hour work weeks.
I have no idea if your statement is accurate or not. At this point I'm not sure carrots/sticks are necessary. Shart has gotten rid of everyone that ever questioned him. All that's left now are sycophants and corporate clone A holes that tend to agree with him on policy anyway. Everyone else has been 'retired to spend time with their family'.
They can hire 5 offshore for the price of one US employee. On top of that, I notice offshore people working all hours of day and night since they do not have the same labor laws, so it's probably more like 10 for the price of one! 😯
Cost savings alone shows the Wells Fargo has nothing to offer consumers. The only solution is sale of the brokerage to jpm or Schwab while breaking up the bank. Charlie scharf needs to be fired.
For some things it is better and cheaper to just push it to software as a service like Workday or Service Now. There's no reason we should run those systems ourselves especially since they were commercial systems anyway. HR was Peoplesoft, CMDB was Remedy. Same thing with other systems where we just won't spend the money or an external vendor can do a better job at building/maintaining a system.
Come on, we've all seen how horrible some systems are run.
Executives don’t get paid bonuses unless cost saving measures are met. Plain and simple.
Everything else is bs.
It's just like every other group in the company, they want to get rid of the absolute max number of domestic workers as possible by whatever means necessary. The purges will continue for the foreseeable future.
