Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO ki-ls mental health

In HCOL location like San Francisco the gasoline price is very high and increasing tremendously. I’m married, 2 kids, I find it hard maintaining work life balance these days. My job is hectic and toxic. My boss is bossy. The tech stack I am using is old. My pay is low. RTO is the final straw. :(

Personally I'd rather focus on work, but if they want me to just play games and work the system that's on them. Either way, it's severance or nothing. If they were gonna change the plan they certainly would have done so before spending a billion $ on it.

Is this a real post or satire?

Lol get over yourself, you’re always saying that same tough guy humble brag but actually just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

They’ll just dream up some reason to can you, or change the terms of severance while they deliberately make your life miserable.

Jokes on them. There's no circumstance where I'm leaving without severance. It's not even so much about the $. At this point I've seen way to many good people thrown away like trash, and for that reason alone I'm not giving the evil little man in the ivory tower what he wants. F that POS. Start writing a years worth of checks Charles. Also, F off.

So go get a job somewhere they will pay you to sit home. If your skills are in high enough demand the offers will be piling up. Otherwise, understand that if you are not willing to play by their rules they can easily find someone who will. Many someones.

Wall St doesn’t care about any of that. They want to see companies reduce the cost of headcount, in both rate and volume.

Yup, it’s clear they’re willing to put up with low quality workers if there’s a corrupt local government that offers few worker protections and low pay. That’s the only thing they care about. But enough about the new campus in Texas…

It's precisely because you're in a HCOL that the company is trying to break you. They want you to quit on your own so they save on layoff costs. Because ultimately: everyone who isn't in India is a HCOL employee that they must eliminate.

I'm sure the thousands of people who were doing it for 5 days are really sorry for you

Tormenting you with indignities is the entire point. They think they can drive attrition that way, and that's all they want from domestic workers.

The average regular unleaded gas price in my town is around $5.60 per gallon. This price range is becoming a norm these days. I have to drive 45 min each way, going through crowded streets with many traffic lights, even the highways are always congested. Yes, it is mentally distressful. The kick is that I don't know anyone in the office I go to, I just sit there quietly by myself. I wonder why I have to drive there 3 times a week, wasting time and gas.
