It su-ks, but it's a fact of life that can't be avoided unless you're willing to open up your own business. I'm more upset over how SAP has been treating people while we're still working here. The change in company culture and the promotion of butt-kissing over merit is what's ruining the company. That's what's truly upsetting to me. That's what's making me almost sorry I wasn't laid off. That's the real issue at SAP.

Are they basically moving NA jobs to low cost Asia
Totally Agree- Layoff happens at all companies at some point or the other but the reason matters - Just because I worked so hard all these years and got up the ladder and made more money, I am impacted. If this is the reason, the board members and executives should be resigning first. Such a bad management. SAP will suffer down the road. Karma is going to hit them back hard.
When the business is having issues, not when it's making money hand over fist. This is about squeezing more out of those left and moving work to countries where the workers are more desperate
The real issue is that they are doing this over 4 quarters instead of laying everyone they need to off at once. That means those who are still at the company are second guessing whether they should jump ship or not.
But I agree, you are just a number on a spreadsheet in the payroll system.
Everything you describe also happens at every company that has more than 10 employees.
